Poetry Friday: The Pendant

It seems like Gran kept every letter ever sent her way! I’ve been combing them for Story and compiling excerpts into a book for family. Only 250 pages so far!

When she was 28 she moved from Rhodesia to Canada with her husband and three small daughters. It was not an easy decision. “I don’t fancy the idea of trailing the children after my husband the length and breadth of Canada, but he thinks it will be fun.”

Over the next twenty years they moved between Canada, the States and Mexico. Gran wrote and painted as she went.

I did a poem about “random objects in the house” this week—a pendant given Gran by a friend in the Mexico days in the 1960s.
