16 Words

Welcome to Perfect Picture Book Friday, Everyone! My picture book recommendation today is…

16 Words: William Carlos Williams and "The Red Wheelbarrow" by Lisa Rogers (Author), Chuck Groenink (Illustrator), published by Schwartz & Wade, 2019.

Themes/Topics: Poetry, mindfulness, Words, inspiration

Opening: Look out the window.  What do you see?

Brief Synopsis (from Amazon): This simple nonfiction picture book about the beloved American poet William Carlos Williams is also about how being mindful can result in the creation of a great poem like "The Red Wheelbarrow"--which is only sixteen words long.

Why I Like This Book: “He looks up, looks out, and notices” seems to sum up the book and the message for me.  It reminds me to look out and notice.
